Former President, Jerry John Rawlings has bemoaned the upsurge of ‘false prophets’ in the country.
According to him, these so-called 'pastors’ with their false teachings and prophecies have brought Christianity into disrepute.
Mr. Rawlings expressed these sentiments at a durbar to mark the annual
Amu (Brown Rice) festival by the chiefs and people of Avatime Gbadzeme
in the Volta region over the weekend.
He said though government officials and public sector workers are often
condemned for engaging in corrupt practices, “the misuse of God’s name
is the worst kind of corruption”.
The former president criticized the media houses who sell-off “precious airtime” to such ‘fake prophets’ to ply their trade.
