The Black Stars have not won the African Cup in 33 years and are hoping to end the trophy drought this time around but Countryman Songo thinks otherwise.
The renowned sports journalist is of the view that the Stars cannot win the trophy if players like Asamoah Gyan remain in the team. He mentioned that the Black Stars skipper has no love for the game but only for the money he earns. In an interview on Accra-based Peace Fm, Songo said;
He had one of the most glorious chances to prove his worth at Sunderland and he managed to do it. He marketed himself well and when teams like Liverpool wanted to sign him, he packed his luggage and went to Arab because of money.
The Stars suffered a 2-1 defeat to the Lions of Senegal yesterday but hope to bounce back in their next game against Algeria.
