Legend Abedi Pele to act as Andre Ayew’s agent in crunch future talks with Marseille
Ghana midfielder André Ayew and his father Abedi Pele will soon meet with Olympique Marseille president Vincent Labrune over the players’ future.
Ayew says the door is still is opened for him to remain at the Stade Velodrome. The winger is out of contract in June and has been linked with giants like Liverpool, Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund in the hunt for his signature.
“The door is open. Today, I don’t know what the future holds,” Ayew told L’Equipe. “I am going soon to see Mr Labrune (Marseille’s Chairman), my father (former club and Ghana legend Abedi Pelé) and I, as I currently don’t have an agent.
We are going to listen to what the President has to say and we’ll see after that what I will do.” He added that: “However OM qualify or not for the Champions League, my decision will more depend on what I have experienced and I can still experience at the club.
“If I have to stay at Marseille, it will be because the club has big ambitions and things are done so it remains like that.
After, if it’s not the case, our paths will part but in a very nice way.” Ayew scored on his return to the club after the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in the 2-2 draw with Reims last Saturday. He has been named in the Marseille squad to face Saint Etienne on Sunday.
