It has emerged that Ewuraffe Orleans Thompson, the girl who was allegedly raped by ace broadcaster Kwesi Kyei Darkwah popularly known as KKD was a virgin. This was revealed in Court Wednesday February 18, by the prosecution at the Kaneshie District Court. State Prosecutor Malike Woanya who read the bill of indictment in court indicated that the complainant, Orleans Thompson was a virgin and was forcibly raped by KKD. According to Woanya, a medical report revealed that Orleans Thompson was bleeding right after she was raped at a washroom of the African Regent Hotel by KKD. He added that based on the report, the 19-year-old was previously not sexually active. The prosecutor also told the court that his outfit has sufficient evidence to prosecute the renowned broadcaster. Ace broadcaster Kwasi Kyei Darkwah (KKD) has been served with a bill of indictment and summary of evidence following rape charges against him. KKD returned to the Magistrate Court Thursday although the victim involved Orleans Thompson has shown disinterest in the case. The case has been adjourned to February 5, 2015 for committal hearing, Starr News’ court correspondent Wilberforce Asare reported. The embattled CEO of Finest Productions has confessed to having sex with the 19-year-old lady in an Africa Regent Hotel washroom, but denies the act being non-consensual. Ms Thompson has written to the Attorney General she wants to withdraw the case, but the prosecution are bent on carrying on. The two-page letter signed by the victim and issued on January 12, 2015 called on the authorities to stop the case, as she would not cooperate in the trial. KKD later wrote a letter asking the public to forgive him for the ridicule and disgrace he had caused to his family and that of the victim. He blamed his shortcoming on what he described as “fleeting pleasure of the flesh” and acknowledged that he had sinned and prayed for God’s forgiveness. He also expressed deep regret for the harm he had done the young victim and asked the media to spare the two of them and their families further agony. Source: Ghana/Starrfmonline.com/103.5FM

StarrFMonline.com has intercepted the Close-Circuit Television (CCTV) footage which captured detained Kwasi Kyei Darkwah (KKD) romancing his alleged rape victim Ewuraffe Orleans Thompson at the African Regent Hotel.

After days of undercover works in the ‘server room’ of the hotel, where such private videos are profoundly cosseted, StarrFmonline.com has taken pains to whittle down and piece together the over 12-hour long separate videos from different cameras into a six-minute storyboard to give a visual idea of what really took place before, during and after the alleged non-consensual sex bout in the bathroom.

“We believe we have a strong case and will file a supplementary application with this video,” Gary Nimako, one of the counsel of the 49-year-old on remand CEO of the Finest Productions, confidently told

StarrFMonline.com after your authoritative news website verified the video from him.

Nimako and his team have already filed for bail for their embattled client at the Human Rights High Court after a Magistrate’s Court denied KKD bail late last year. The bail application is expected to be heard on January 7 – a day before the actual case at the inferior court is heard.

StarrFMonline.com can confirm the supplementary bail application will be filed today, January 2, 2015.

StarrFMonline.com’s analysis of the CCTV video which was taken with different CCTV cameras at the plush hotel, reveals that the ace broadcaster had closed to 45 minutes chat with the 19-year-old and her cousin at the foyer after the trio had entered the hotel together. Our investigations show that the parties might have met outside the hotel, exchanged pleasantries and walked in together and then stationed at the Reception Area for selfies.

They were seen in a hearty chat, sharing smiles, shaking hands and hugging a few admirers as well as took selfies together at the atrium. After the lobby session, KKD and Ewuraffe in addition to her cousin and two others used the elevator to the chalets. When they got to the corridor leading to the rooms, the rest left the duo at the entrance, where they spent close to four minutes kissing and caressing before the CCTV camera.

Embattled broadcast personality, KKD, has been denied bail. He is to reappear in court on January 8. KKD is being held for a rape related offence. He has since been taken to the scene of the alleged incident as part of the investigation process. The incident, reported by a lady, whose name has only been given as Effie, was said to have taken place at the African Regent Hotel, in Accra. The Police are exploring many angles in their investigations including relying on the hotel’s Closed Circuit Television camera to adduce some evidence.  He has since denied the claim, insisting the act was consensual. Rape is a non-bailable offence in Ghana. Section 97 of the Criminal Offence Act (COA) categorizes rape as a first degree felony punishable by law. It is backed by Section 98, which defines rape as carnal knowledge of a female of not less than sixteen years without her consent. He faces up to between 5 to 25 years in jail if found guilty.
