The annual Pumpkins Charity Festival which brings together philanthropists, families, school children, representatives of corporate institutions and other individuals to reaffirm their desire to have dedicated support for deprived children and education in rural communities around the country is here with us again.

Organizer, Pumpkins Foundation says this year’s event, aims at raising funds for the construction of a 6-unit classroom block, resource center, library, educational materials as well as sanitary means for the Tupaa M.A Primary School, Tupaa, a deprived community in Ga South, near Obom in the Greater Accra Region.

The Foundation adopted the Tupaa Community for easy social impact of its social intervention strategies which focuses on the education, health and basic human needs of deprived children and their communities.

The Foundation was established in 2010 as a child focused organization dedicated to the promotion of the general wellbeing of poor and needy children.

With a tag line, “KIDS HELPING KIDS” the Pumpkins Foundation seeks to empower children to be agents of change and support other children in need, their communities as well as other charitable causes.

The Pumpkins Foundation has since been implementing strategies that create a rare opportunity for child learning through recreation and provision of resources for academic advancement and good living.
Child Care and Development Executive and Founder of the Pumpkins Foundation Baisiwa Dowuona-Hammond, challenged all to support the cause to give children in the beneficiary community a better chance in life.

The Foundation has been working with a number of local and international partners including the Africa Youth Exchange, Ghana Education Service, Ghana Health Service, Pediatric Society of Ghana and SMOPA 95 Foundation on a wide range of child related issues.

Activities for the 2014 Pumpkins Charity Festival include Health Walk, Adolescent Education, Education on Cholera and Ebola, Road safety and Fire Education Sporting activities – football, volley ball, basket ball, net ball, table tennis and other fun games such as bouncy castle, trampoline, carousel, chess and many others.

There will also be loads of entertainment by renowned music talents including Reggie Rockstone, Obrafour, Kwaw Kese, Wutah Kobby and more Personalities including Kwame Sefa Kayi, Portia Gabor, Bola Ray, Naa Ashorkor, Benny Blanco, Ayesha Passah, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, Anita Erskine, Ekow Smith, Jeremie and several others will be in attendance.
