Empire Entertainment is set to host the fifth edition of its signature annual concert, Ghana Meets Naija.<br />
<br />
The entertainment powerhouse owned by Starr FM CEO Kwabena Anokye Adisi, more commonly known as Bola Ray, has for the past four years used the competitive platform to promote collaborations between Ghanaian and Nigerian artistes.<br />
<br />
 The show in the past has seen thrilling performances by artistes such as Brymo, Sarkodie, Tiwa Savage, Castro, Wizkid, Davido, D’banj, 4×4, Shatta Wale, R2bees, and M.I among others. Both Ghana and Nigeria have had strong representations in the past with the two countries having their fair share of victory moments.<br />
<br />
Meanwhile, a source among the organisers has hinted that the Nigerian artistes who have expressed interest in featuring in this year’s concert are some of the “deadliest” the African continent has seen. “Ghana may have a tough time this year.<br />
<br />
 The Nigerian team is crazy! The deadliest so far,” the source warned. The organisers have promised that this year’s event will feature some surprises which will beat the minds of patrons.

4×4’s label – Don Jeff Records is giving out $1000 to the best booty dancer who can dance well to the song – ‘Kpagam Kpagam’.<br />
<br />
As we all know, 4×4 is all about ladies and they calling out all their female fans to join this competition and get the chance to dance in the music video of ‘Kpagam Kpagam’, hang out with them on a lunch date and also receive $1000.<br />

Since Captain Planet got married in June last year, Fresh Prince, the only bachelor in the 4×4 hiplife trio says he has been contemplating marrying too but the “consistent pressure from my elder brothers is making me uneasy”.<br />
<br />
Lead singer, Fresh Prince, told Showbiz last Monday, “sometimes I think about marriage too. Besides, it’s not a bad decision to get married but the truth is that, I’m still young and feel it’s important that I concentrate on my career. I believe i when the time is ripe, I will also be a ‘ husband,” he said.<br />
<br />
In his early thirties, Fresh Prince, who is currently dating, acknowledged that he respects the institution of marriage and as such, he would not want to rush into it and regret the decision later.<br />
<br />
Fresh Prince officially joined the 4X4 group in 2008 when he was ‘featured on the popular ‘Hot Girls dot com song the previous year. He described that feeling as awesome and reward of his hard work.<br />
<br />
He however disputed the perception that his later inclusion in the group has helped the group’s survival till date.<br />
<br />
“I don’t even want to comment on this issue because personally, it’s just a distraction of our common goal as a group. Besides, before I joined the group, 4×4 had made their name already. Yes, I may have played some important roles like being the lead singer but that is my field.<br />
<br />
“We all have our strong points, Captain Planet does the singing and Coded is more comfortable with the raga. I can’t do what both of them do. It’s team work and we all play our part well to ensure that a good job is done. I don’t want to glorify such sayings at all,” he stated.<br />
<br />
The former student of Adisadel College described his journey with 4×4 as the best days of his life and a dream come true since it was a group he had always admired from afar.<br />
<br />
He said even though the group has chalked many successes in its more than ten years of existence, they wouldn’t relent on their efforts to remain relevant on the music radar.<br />
<br />
Prince Tamakloe is his real name and he is a sound engineer and song writer.<br />
<br />
“I believe I’m a handsome guy who feels comfortable in his skin”, was his explanation for the name, Fresh Prince when he was asked.<br />
<br />
He said the group is currently working hard to get more laurels in their field of endeavor and their recent songs, Baby Dance and Roses, which are receiving massive airplay, are evidence of another “new beginning”.<br />
<br />
He allayed the fears of their fans that 4X4 may follow in the path of other groups which have split up in the past.<br />
<br />
“I have no fear that the group will split up. Like my senior brothers, Captain Planet always says, no one is above the group. The group’s interest comes first before any other personal ambitions. We respect one another and very passionate about what we do as a group,” he stated.<br />

Hiplife musician Akoo Nana was over the weekend stopped from completing his performance at the Tigo Unplugged concert for bringing naked dancers to the stage.<br /><br />The commentary on the event has seen many people criticizing him for promoting nudity but Akoo Nana says his act was a breast cancer awareness act.<br /><br />In an interview with citifmonline.com, he revealed that last Friday’s act was a prelude to a breast cancer campaign he’ll be reactivating soon.<br /><br />“I’m embarking on my breast cancer campaign and I’m dropping a video, which features various health professionals, to sensitize people on breast cancer.”<br /><br />According to him, his act was completely planned to educate the over twenty thousand patrons of the event on breast cancer and its effects and he found it quite unfortunate he wasn’t allowed to finish.<br /><br />“I wanted to break the performance at a point and educate people on breast cancer. But the crowd was hyper and I wanted to get to the end of my performance to do that but I couldn’t finish the act.”<br /><br /> According to him, he is surprised that some people are misconstruing his genuine efforts and saying all sorts of things about him. He said as a chief, he deems it right to educate the public various things and that is what he attempted to do.<br /><br /> ”I’m a chief and a chief will not promote anything bad. The girls were not naked. They wore something from their waist down. People paid huge sums to watch Umoja, why are we not talking about that. My act was well planned to send a message home, that we need to do more to prevent breast cancer.”<br /><br />Akoo Nana’s act had three almost naked dancers. They masks on to cover their faces, and loosely covered their lower body and left their bare breasts dangling in front of the over twenty thousand (20000) patrons of the event.<br /><br />The organizers quickly moved in to whisk them off the stage to avoid embarrassment.<br /><br />Other acts who performed at the event were Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, MzVee, 4×4, Davido and Guru, with appearances by Pappy Kojo and Joey B.<br /><br />By: Kojo Akoto Boateng/citifmonline.com/Ghana
