Vegas was the place to be this past weekend following the well-hyped and highly anticipated fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao billed to take place at the MCM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. If you didn’t know, well… Mayweather won. Boyaah!!

In other news, a host of celebrities also flocked to Vegas to soak in
the thrill of the fight or just have a good time.

Among them is our

Empire Entertainment is set to host the fifth edition of its signature annual concert, Ghana Meets Naija.

The entertainment powerhouse owned by Starr FM CEO Kwabena Anokye Adisi, more commonly known as Bola Ray, has for the past four years used the competitive platform to promote collaborations between Ghanaian and Nigerian artistes.

The show in the past has seen thrilling performances by artistes such as Brymo, Sarkodie, Tiwa Savage, Castro, Wizkid, Davido, D’banj, 4×4, Shatta Wale, R2bees, and M.I among others. Both Ghana and Nigeria have had strong representations in the past with the two countries having their fair share of victory moments.

Meanwhile, a source among the organisers has hinted that the Nigerian artistes who have expressed interest in featuring in this year’s concert are some of the “deadliest” the African continent has seen. “Ghana may have a tough time this year.

The Nigerian team is crazy! The deadliest so far,” the source warned. The organisers have promised that this year’s event will feature some surprises which will beat the minds of patrons.

HKN boss, Davido recently shared one of his high school experiences, which is by no means pleasant.
It is simply a flashback by the ‘Aye’ singer to a time in school when one of his teachers, in particular, his French teacher, told him the probability of success for him is very remote.

Today, the 22-year old singer is on top of his game as a pop star not just in Nigeria but on the entire African continent, with countless local and international awards to his credit as well as chart-topping singles.

In a recent instagram post, the BET award winner shared the experience, writing: ‘My French teacher in high school told me I was the MOST UNLIKELY TO SUCCEED JOKES ON HER.’

While the teacher might be thinking of success in terms of grades and white collar jobs, Davido has chosen a different path in music and cannot by any means be described as unsuccessful even if he can still achieve a lot more yet....
