Multiple award-winning songstress, Becca yesterday appeared on Starr
Chat show hosted by Bola Ray where she talked about how it all started
for her, her secondary school days, her music career, her relationship
life and more.

On whether she is dating and the qualities of the man, she said, “I’ve
been dating for some years now, my boyfriend has vision, points out my
mistakes, corrects me... He is a well-to-do man and very focused as
well. His ability to encourage and urge me on among other stuff makes me
cherish and love him the more”, she added.

When asked about how her boyfriend reacts to her alleged sexual
escapade in Brazil during the 2014 World Cup where it was alleged that
Becca had a sexual affair with the then Sports Minister, Hon. Elvis
Afriyie Ankrah and some Black Stars players, she said, “That’s why this
man is one of a kind, very unique. He tells me all the time that, ‘I
don’t care what anybody says about you, you know what I mean?'”

Becca has released hit songs like ‘Daa ke daa’, No Away ft. MI, Sugar,
Hey ba among other hit songs. She recently released a joint song with
rapper Trigmatic called ‘Lovers and Friends’ which has started receiving
massive airplay. She also organizes her own annual 'girls-girls'
concert every December.

The former Wesley Girls and Gimpa student has won the hearts of many,
most importantly because of her humbling nature, her lyrical dexterity,
her soothing voice among others. She is also set to release another
single soon.

For the first time since cutting professional ties with her longtime
manager, Ghanaian songbird Rebecca Acheampong, more commonly known by
her stage name Becca has opened up about the reason behind the
mysterious ‘break-up’.

“I had a contract with EKB records that expired and I decided to move on and try new things,” she told StarrFMonline.com.

The two who have worked together since Becca went commercial in 2007
were widely reported to be romantically involved but gave no credit to
the speculations.

Kiki Banson, who confirmed the split to Starr FM on March 5, did not
give details of circumstances that led to it but a source close to him
told Starr Entertainment that he has been dismissive about the whole
thing and noted he was relieved he no longer has to deal with the
complexities involved in managing the Push hitmaker.

But speaking to Starr Entertainment at a media listening party she
hosted together with her rapper friend Trigmatic at 233 for their new
song “Lover and Friend”, Becca said she had the “most amazing” manager
in Kiki Banson, but she had to “move on” and grow.

“I had the most amazing manager in the whole world. Kiki Banson is an
amazing manager. And everywhere I go, every chance I get, I say it.”

Despite the split, Becca said she still has a very strong bond with her former manager.

“I had a wonderful time working with him, and I still have a great
relationship with him as a friend. So it was amicable but like I said,
sometimes in life you just had to move on and do other things. I think
he equally is also doing other things right now so it was very
amicable.”
Empowering women in societies today, is key to economic wealth not just in Africa but throughout the world.

Many African families rely on women to care for them and provide basic means of livelihood.

It
is for this reason that the ‘African woman’ hitmaker has taken that
bold step through music to give women a voice and to be heard.

The
beautiful Ghanaian artiste, Becca, is unrelenting in her bid to be the
voice of many women through her music and bringing women together every
December in her annual ‘Girl Talk Concert’ in Ghana.

Becca, for the past three years has been consistently successful in her all ladies (Girl Talk) concert in the city of Accra.

The
concept of the annual Girl Talk Concert is to bring the majority of
women in the country to talk about particular issues relating to women
and then entertain them (women) through music.

The theme for the 2014 Becca Girl Talk Concert is ‘The making of a woman.’

Of the many billboards competing for space in the
city of Accra, during this festive season for audience and arenas and
theatres, Becca’s Girl Talk stands out rightly tall with a talented lady
seeking the attention of fellow women to gather at the National Theatre
built many years ago by Kwame Nkrumah.

She competes in male
dominated industry with few women staying relevant over years and many
major brands to have time with women, talk on pertinent issues
concerning the 21st century woman.
