If the court hearing the defamation suit against controversial musician Shatta Wale ever awards the 10 million cedis being sought by the plaintiffs, the musician may just be able to raise the money.

Even though the case is at its early stages, the musician has started receiving financial support probably to help him disentangle himself from the web he wove.

Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr is currently facing a GH¢10 million defamatory suit brought against him by Charter House and its CEO, Mr. Iyiola Ayoade.

Even without asking, Shatta Wale announced Thursday Black Stars midfielder, Derek Boateng had offered €5,000.

According to the Ghana Music Awards Artiste of the Year, who disclosed this on Facebook Wednesday, he was surprised by the kind and unexpected gesture from Derek Boateng, who also plays for Spanish club, S.D. Eibar.

An elated ‘Enter The Net’ hit singer posted photographs of the footballer on his Facebook and promised to mention him in one of his songs.
“THANKS TO DEREK BOATENG FOR THE 5000EURO SURPRISE ..I REALLY APPRECIATE...REAL SHATTA MOVEMENT FOOTBALLER...YOU LARGE...WATCHOUT FOR YOUR NAME IN ONE OF MY SONGS..LOL,” Shatta Wale said.

The €5,000 is approximately GHc20,000.
