With the introduction of the “Like” button to Facebook, we guess the obvious opposite would be a “Dislike” button but unfortunately despite many users asking for it, Facebook has yet to implement it. After all would it be more appropriate to dislike an upsetting status, photo, or video, rather than liking it?

Well the semi-good news for Facebook users is that the company’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg is considering the idea and mulling it over. This was revealed during an hour long Q&A session at Facebook’s headquarters. According to Zuckerberg, he has received feedback where users have told him that they don’t feel comfortable pressing the “Like” button sometimes.

However it’s not as simple as just tossing in a new button. According to Zuckerberg, he wants to take a measured approach to this as he wants to see what the impact of a dislike button could have for users, although at the same time he believes that such a button that allows users to effectively disagree with something might actually be a good idea.

Of course none of this is a guarantee that Facebook will eventually implement such a feature, but what do you guys think? Do you think that having a dislike button would allow more users to voice their opinions, especially for those who’d rather not leave comments?
