UK- based Musician Sonnie Badu is to be honoured in Amsterdam as the outstanding Ghanaian in the Diaspora for the year 2014.
The award comes after the Representative Council of Ghanaians in Netherlands (RECOGIN) unanimously voted Minister Sonnie Badu for the award. The honour comes with a token and some cash amount to support Sonnie Badu’s outstanding ministry.
In a letter signed by the Chairman of Recogin, Charles Vanderpuye and sent to Sonnie Badu and his management, the letter noted that “ Sonnie Badu is no doubt the best Gospel singer acknowledged not only by Ghanaians but also by many African Nationals.

Badu” a perfect role model for all young Ghanaians in the diaspora”
The letter invited Sonnie Badu to be present at a ceremony in Amsterdam to receive his award.
Meanwhile Sonnie Badu has congratulated the Black Stars for their gallant performance at the just ended AFCON 2015 that was hosted by Equatorial Guinea.
He stated that the stars have by their performance rekindled the love and support they enjoyed from their fans in Ghana and worldwide.
He reiterated that “Ayekoo Black Stars, you have proven that when you fall it is your choice to rise again or stay down there. You have proven that team work pays and God has rewarded your efforts”

Sonnie who is a sports fanatic admonished the stars to believe in themselves despite all odds and not to relent on their oars.
The stars came second at the just ended AFCON tournament after they lost 8-9 on penalties to Cote d’Ivoire.
