Looks like everything was going fine for Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 
2015 which will be happening tonight at the Accra International 
Conference Center until George Quaye announced that Chris Attoh wont be 
able to make early in time from Nigeria to steer affairs for the show 
tonight because of the upcoming elections in Nigeria.

Charter House Ghana, event organizers of Ghana Music Awards thought 
it wise to quickly invite acting Head of Sports at Joy FM, Nathaniel 
Attoh, to host the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2015 tonight February, 
and he accepted warmly.

This marks the first time he will handle the emcee role and will join Joselyn Dumas on stage.

It is hoped that Nat Attoh keeps the show moving briskly along with the audience laughing — and in check.

Since then, he has moved on to host very prestigious industry awards 
including the Ghana Insurance Awards, Advertising Association of Ghana 
(AAG) Gong Gong Awards, SWAG Awards, Consumer Awards for Nestle©, 
Unilever, and Association of Oil marketing Companies of Ghana.

Nat is not new to emceeing work as he host events such as Miss 
Universe 2013, Ghana Movie Awards 2011, launches for Ghana Meets Naija, 
the launch of the Nineteen Fifty Seven Clothing Line by KOD, the Fashion
 Show of the Joy FM Beauty and Bridal Fair among others.

He has also done varied corporate events for institutions such as 
Ghana Commercial Bank, Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited, UT Bank, UBA, 
NDK Financial Services, Helios Towers, MTN, Airtel, Tigo, Ghana Re, 
National Lottery Authority, Minerals Commission, the Business and 
Financial Times, Indomie (Multi Pro Private Limited), Ghana Link, Ghana 
Statistical Service and many more.

The 16th editions of the VGMA nominees jam took off yesterday 21st March in Cape Coast, Central Region. The festival train which sees to create the platform for the nominees to perform to their fans outside the capital city has now landed in cape coast. The event will be having established artistes on the stage in the likes of E.L , Stonebwoy, Edem, MsVee, Selina Boateng, D Black and many more. Some people choose to call it the 
controversial Awards and some call it the biggest event on GH’s 
entertainment calendar, no matter the adjective you prefer to use to 
describe the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, one thing that has been 
established over the past sixteen years is the fact that the VGMA is the
 most anticipated event in Ghana. In its sixteen year history 
there has not been any year in which the release of the nominees list 
was not met with controversy. In fact the controversy starts even before
 the nominees list is made public and it reaches its peak immediately 
after the launch of the Awards. This year was no different, even 
though the controversy is relatively on the low this year issues arising
 of the release of the list cannot be shelved. Opinions vary on which 
artiste deserved to win what or even those who did not deserve any 
nomination at all. Take gospel musician Anita Afriyie for 
instance, she has virtually taken event organizers to the cleaners for 
what she thinks are not enough nominations. She and her management are 
of the view that they deserved more nominations than they got. They did 
not end there, they went further to cast doubts on the pedigree of other
 gospel artistes who received more nominations than she did. Artistes
 who were not nominated in any category are also fuming; Akoo Nana and 
Chase Forever have expressed dissatisfaction over the fact that they did
 not receive any nomination even though in their view they deserved to 
be nominated. 
<a href="https://draft.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a>The reactions are many, but having been in existence 
for 16 years the robust nature of the measures but in place and the 
diligence of the VGMA Board answers all questions that seek to call the 
integrity of the Awards into question. Away from the reactions 
and controversies, the ride to music biggest night has two more stops to
 make before the 11th of April. The ride is fuelling up to go to Cape 
Coast on the 21st of March. It promises to be an electrifying experience
 as it is seen as a sort of campaign platform for nominees. It’s
 a chance for nominees to prove their nominations, justify their 
inclusion and send a word to all those who may have doubted their 
nomination. Cape Coasters will have a feel of what the final event would
 be like. The Victoria Park will be ignited by passion and the heavy 
weights in GH Music will descend on the coastal city. The ride is
 fuelled up with all the passion of 25 million people and its making its
 way to the coastal city, Accra do not get jealous since the main event 
is in your back yard. So on the 21st of March, 2015 all roads lead to 
the Victoria Park, for an unforgettable night of electrifying 
performances by nominees of the 2015 VGMA. In the meantime, 
remember you have a 40% power to decide who wins what.  Exercising that 
power is very simple, just text A to vote for Artiste of the Year, Text B
 to vote for Vodafone Song of the Year and Text C to vote for other 
categories to 1767.

Takoradi-born Ghanaian rapper Pappy Kojo has said he deserves all the nominations he has received in this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. Even though some industry players believe he didn’t deserve any of the nominations he had, the rapper says they are a true reflection of his work. Speaking in an interview with Hitz FM’s Ibrahim Ben-Bako, the rapper, when asked if he deserved all the nominations said “If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be in the categories because I’m not an Accra boy, I don’t have relationship with any of the awards people for them to even consider me, they obviously put me in it because they saw my works and they liked it.” Pappy Kojo was nominated in the Best New Artiste of the Year, Hiphop Song of the Year and Hiplife/Hippop Artiste of the Year categories all for his song, “Realer No”. “In the beginning I didn’t expect it but then I realize I have some numbers, people really like me, the kids dress like me, they follow me everywhere I go, so I feel like I have a certain type of people who look up to me. “Ever since the wave in the “Realer No” came [out] I see people with their tattered jeans, bandana and even with my hairstyle, so I feel like I am helping change a game so obviously yeah I do,” he said. Commenting on the genre of his song “Realer No” which features “Tonga” hit maker Joey B, he said, “My song has both the hiphop and hiplife feel. I’m doing it in our local dialect, it’s traditional and the feeling to the beat and melody has that hiphop feeling to it.” According to him, the fact that he was nominated alone makes him feel like a winner and also relevant in the industry. “I feel like am already a winner, last year June, July, August no one knew who I was and within seven months, I [have been] nominated. I never expected this to happen. I just want to go to awards [launch] and hear ‘and the nominees are Pappy Kojo’ it’s my dream, So if I happen to even get one I [will be] grateful. My friends and family are proud.” This year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) was launched on Friday February, 27 at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel and the main award ceremony is scheduled for April 11 at the Accra International Conference Centre. Apart from “Realer No”, Pappy Kojo is also known for songs like “Hate the Game”, “Ay3 Late” featuring Sarkodie and “Mamma Mia” which features E.L and Jiggy.

The list of nominees for this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards was announced at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel in Accra Friday night. 
 
The unveiling of the nominees also marked the launch of the awards. The main awards will come off at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on Saturday, April 11. 
 
One time BET award-winner once dominated the nominees list with 10 
nominations, followed by Edem and Stonebwoy. Pappy Kojo,  Episode, 
Mzvee, Emilia Arthur, Wiyaala and Vybrant Faya were nominated in the 
“best New Artiste Of The Year” category.
